In Westport, four new cases were reported at four different schools: Bedford Middle School, Long Lots Elementary, Staples High School, and Stepping Stone Preschool, Superintendent Thomas Scarice wrote in a notice to parents.
“In our efforts to remain transparent with reports of positive Covid-19 cases associated with our schools, we will continue to provide these updates as information is confirmed,” Scarice stated.
“As a reminder, families are asked to report positive of COVID-19 cases of students using our reporting voicemail or email regardless of whether the students are in remote or hybrid models of instruction.”
In Fairfield, cases have been reported within Fairfield Ludlowe High School, McKinley Elementary School, North Stratfield Elementary, Roger Ludlowe Middle School, Timothy Dwight Elementary, and Tomlinson Middle School.
No new school closures were announced in either district.
Officials said that contact tracing is ongoing, and anyone who may have been exposed to COVID-19 will be notified and instructed to temporarily quarantine. Custodial crews have also been tasked with cleaning and disinfecting the school buildings.
According to the Connecticut Schools COVID-19 dashboard, 354 school staff members and 918 students across the state tested positive for the virus in the past week.
